It is home to the Irish Centre for Human Rights and the internationally renowned Centre for Disability Law & Policy; Both centers have a good reputation as world leaders in their fields. The school is passionate about research that meets the highest scientific standards, informs student learning, and addresses current societal challenges that influence public debate and inform government policy. As the program of study will end from early to mid-June, participants are strongly encouraged to complete articling or other legal work for the remainder of the summer. All these internships can be done against credit. The Faculty of Law is strongly committed to collaborative and interdisciplinary research in a variety of fields, with a particular focus on human rights, criminal law and public policy. Applications will be accepted from December 16, 2022 to January 16, 2023. The Bachelor of Civil Law program is the traditional law degree and offers a program with core and elective law subjects. It is also possible to learn a European language – French or German. If you have a keen interest in all aspects of law and want to take all the subjects required for the legal professions into one degree, then the BCL is for you. Students also have the opportunity to participate in an eight- to ten-hour clinical placement per week for ten weeks over the past year. At the end of the second year, interested students can opt for the BCL International Programme, where the third year is spent at a university in continental Europe. (Students studying Legal Irish spend one semester at NUI Galway`s Gaeltacht campus in An Cheathrú Rua and one semester of internship in an Irish-speaking environment.)
